All the islands celebrate with events taking place across the region. Visitors are in for a treat including live music, dancing, street performers, parties and parades all laced with a distinct Caribbean spice and flavour. The calypso competition is hotly contested with performers competing to win the coveted crown of the Calypso King. There are also competitions to find a festival queen and festival prince and princess. Food and drink are also important aspects of the celebrations and this is a great time to sample the delights of a Caribbean barbecue including seafood, spiced chicken and barbecue ribs.
